Privacy policy
QVeeNote does not collect, transmit or share your data. Everything you record stays on your phone.
Who we are
QVeeNote is made by Arboreal Technologies Ltd, 148 The Northumberlands, Love Lane, Lower Mount Street, Dublin D02 WD82, Ireland. Contact: privacy@qvnote.com.
What the app records
When you use QVeeNote it stores, on your phone only:
- what you say to it (a voice recording and its transcript), and the entries it makes from that: medicines, symptoms, readings such as blood pressure or weight, food, activity and notes;
- the names you teach it for medicines, symptoms, foods and activities, and the settings you choose;
- a name for the Summary report, if you type one.
You can delete any of this at any time: single entries, all voice recordings, or everything. Voice recordings are deleted automatically after 90 days unless you choose to keep them.
What leaves your phone
Nothing, unless you do it yourself. QVeeNote has no internet permission: it cannot connect to any server, and there is no account. Data leaves the phone only when you:
- create a backup — an encrypted file protected by a password you choose, saved where you choose;
- create a Summary report — a PDF you choose to share, for example with your doctor;
- send a recording — you can choose to send one voice recording with its corrected words, to help us improve speech recognition. It goes only through the app you pick, and your name is not in it;
- send a diagnostic file — only if you turn on “Help improve QVeeNote” in Settings, and only when you choose to share the file. It contains timings and counts, never the words you said or the names of your medicines.
We never see any of these files unless you send them to us.
Speech recognition
Speech is recognised by software that runs entirely on your phone. No audio or text is sent to any service.
Permissions
QVeeNote asks for the microphone (to hear you). It does not ask for internet access, location, contacts, or Android's health data. You can check this at any time in Android Settings › Apps › QVeeNote › Permissions.
Children
QVeeNote is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children; we do not collect information from anyone.
Not medical advice
QVeeNote is a personal diary. It shows what you recorded and does not interpret it, diagnose, or recommend any treatment. Do not change any medication without talking to your doctor or pharmacist.
Your rights
Because your data is only on your phone, you already have full access to it, can correct it, export it (backup) and erase it (Delete everything). If you contact us about this policy we will reply within 30 days. Residents of the EU/UK may also contact their data protection authority; residents of California and Washington State have rights under the CCPA and the My Health My Data Act, which are satisfied by the controls above since no data is collected.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with a new effective date, and the app's About screen links to it. We will not add data collection to QVeeNote without changing this policy first and saying so in the app.
